Animal-filled Courtly Vienna

Who can defeat the legendary snake that grows two new heads every time it loses one of its many? Did members of the imperial family have pets? Which gate do the two lions guard? 

 

These and other questions will occupy us on this city walk, which takes us from Josefsplatz to the Museumsquartier. 

 

We’ll walk through the Hofburg, where the horses of the Spanish Riding School have been dancing for over 400 years, marvel at a bronze horse weighing several tonnes with its rider balanced on its back, and explore truly imperial stables.
